1. Peso añadido (en gramos):

Parrilla porta equipajes OTR: 674
Cubrecarter OTR: 1.882 – 797 serie = 1.085
Protector faro: 137
Tapones basculante: 45
Ampliación pata cabra: 50
Instalación GPS: 100
Guardabarros alto: 623 – 575 serie = 48
Amortiguador dirección Scotts: 696
Estribos Pivot Pegz: 730 – 530 serie = 200
Cubremanos Acerbis: 800
Puños calefactables: 334 – 50 serie = 284
Power Commander: 180

1. TOTAL AÑADIDO: 4.299

2. Peso sacado (en gramos):

AIS: 394
Estribos pasajero: 1.860
Sensor pata cabra: 94
Asa arrastre moto: 222
Cola soporte top case: 146
Guardabarros trasero: 1.716 – 476 luz y portamatrículas OTR = 1.240
Escape serie: 6.150 – 1.888 Akrapovic carbono = 4.262

2. TOTAL SACADO: -7.824

DIFERENCIA 1 – 2 = -3.525 GRAMOS

The other day I was told how to weight the bike. After cruising around looking for where I could weight it the solution was as dumb as to borrow a scale from my neighbor…

I’ve placed two domestic scales, one on each wheel. The front has weighed 100 kg and 101 rear. I have the luggage brackets that weigh 1,2 kg. so:

– Full (with 24 liters of gas and rest of liquids): 100 +101-1,2 (luggage brackets) = 199.8 kgs
– Empty (without 18.24 kg gas): 181.56 kgs (density of gasoline 0.760).

According Yamaha, the 660 weighs 208 kg full and 185 kg empty.

This is the detail of the weights that have been controlling:

1. Added weight (in grams):

OTR luggage rack: 674
OTR skid plate: 1882-797 OEM skid plate = 1,085
Light protector: 137>
Swing arm axle caps: 45
Side stand extension: 50
GPS Installation: 100
High fender: 623-575 OEM = 48
Scotts steering damper: 696
Pivot Pegz: 730-530 OEM = 200
Acerbis hand guards: 800
Heated grips: 334-50 OEM = 284
Power Commander: 180

1. TOTAL ADDED: 4,299

2. Saved weight (in grams):

AIS: 394
-Passenger footrests: 1,860
-Side stand sensor: 94
-Front bracket to pull the bike: 222
-Top case grill: 146
-Rear fender: 1716 – 476 OTR license plate and rear light = 1,240
-OEM Exhaust: 6150 – 1888 Akrapovic carbon = 4.262

2. TOTAL SAVED: 7824

DIFFERENCE 1-2 = 3.525 GRAMS

3. I don’t have the weights of the front sets (bar suspension / wheel / disc / seatpost / handlebar) so I can’t compare the OEM and the actual, but I think I removed many kilos as there is a single disc and caliper. Only the caliper and hose represent a saving of more than 1 kg. Also the hub and rim are lighter than the original but I have no idea about the OTR triple claps and YZ bars compared with the OEM.

4. I don’t know also the weight of the 18 «rear wheel but in this case I don’t think it has changed much compared to 17». The wheel and tire are larger and the spokes are thicker and heavier but that should be offset by the lighter hub and rear sprocket.

5. I’ve weighed the bike with a front mousse and super thick rear tube that weigh considerably more than the original plus some protections and small accessories.

In short: It would seem reasonable to think that despite having added some components and others are more resistant and heavier than the original, the total savings is 8 to 10 kgs.
